R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, The members of Calvary Baptist Church in Longview |
|
|
are joining together to honor Pastor Richard Jones for 25 years of |
|
|
dedicated service to that congregation; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A graduate of East Texas Baptist University in |
|
|
Marshall, Pastor Jones earned a master's degree in religious |
|
|
education from the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in |
|
|
Fort Worth in 1976; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Pastor Jones began preaching in 1973; 15 years |
|
|
later, he joined Calvary Baptist Church, where he has helped to |
|
|
provide members with myriad opportunities for spiritual growth, |
|
|
fellowship, and community outreach; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Pastor Jones has enjoyed the |
|
|
support of his wife, Barbara, who has served by his side throughout |
|
|
his ministry; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This inspiring clergyman has led Calvary Baptist |
|
|
Church with conviction and compassion, and he has earned the |
|
|
lasting respect and admiration of his congregants as well as |
|
|
members of the greater community; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That Pastor Richard Jones be commended for his |
|
|
outstanding quarter-century tenure with Calvary Baptist Church and |
|
|
that he be extended sincere best wishes for continued success with |
|
|
his important work; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Pastor Jones as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
