H.R. No. 1403
 
 
 
R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, For 35 years, the outstanding volunteers of McGregor
  EMS have helped to save lives and provide vital medical care to
  their fellow residents; and
         WHEREAS, Founded in 1978, McGregor EMS was established when a
  critical need for first responder medical services arose in the
  local community; the organization was initially supported by 36
  dedicated individuals but quickly grew to include more than 50
  volunteers; in addition to completing basic training, many of them
  went on to earn advanced certifications as emergency care
  attendants, emergency medical technicians, and paramedics; and
         WHEREAS, The men and women of McGregor EMS worked to expand
  the level of care, soon upgrading from basic life support to
  advanced life support and thereby helping to improve the chances of
  survival for patients in critical condition; through the years,
  they have also shared their time and expertise to help other
  communities establish ambulance service; and
         WHEREAS, More than 100 volunteers have contributed to
  McGregor EMS during the past three and a half decades; these brave
  first responders have demonstrated an enduring dedication to
  providing urgent care to those in need, and area Texans owe an
  enormous debt of gratitude for their tireless efforts; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby honor the volunteers of McGregor EMS, past and
  present, and commend them for their valuable contributions to the
  community; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the group as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
