R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, April 16, 2012, was indeed a momentous day in the
  lives of John Kenneth Martin and Marissa Welch Martin of Tyler, for
  it marked the birth of their first child, Ruby Kirkpatrick Martin;
  and
         WHEREAS, Weighing 8 pounds, 13 ounces, and measuring 21-1/2
  inches in length, Ruby made her much-anticipated debut at 8:00
  p.m., and she immediately captivated her parents with her alert,
  inquisitive manner; and
         WHEREAS, Blessed with a beautiful smile and outgoing
  personality, this charming little girl has already brightened the
  lives of everyone around her, including her doting grandparents,
  Mike and Gail Martin and Robert and Tammy Welch, and her smitten
  aunts and uncles, State Representative Dennis Bonnen and his wife,
  Kim, and Clay and Jaclyn Abernathy; Ruby is also adored and will be
  well protected throughout her life by her cousins, Jackson and
  Gregory Bonnen and Jack Madison Abernathy; and
         WHEREAS, Now celebrating her first birthday, "Ruby K" or
  "Ruby-two-shoes," as she is affectionately known, has already
  embraced her burnt orange heritage by adopting The University of
  Texas mascot, Bevo, as her favorite stuffed animal; surrounded by
  her loved ones, she looks forward to enjoying her favorite meal of
  chicken and avocado on her special day; and
         WHEREAS, Ruby Martin began her life sheltered in the warm
  embrace of a wonderful family, and with their support and guidance,
  she may indeed look forward to a bright future; now, therefore, be
  it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby officially welcome Ruby Kirkpatrick Martin as a
  new citizen of the Lone Star State and extend sincere
  congratulations to John and Marissa Martin on their beloved
  daughter's first birthday; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the Martins as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
