H.R. No. 1420

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the passing of Andrea De Leon Garcia of Corpus Christi on February 11, 2013, at the age of 73; and

WHEREAS, A Corpus Christi native, Mrs. Garcia was born on December 18, 1939, to Calixtro and Romana De Leon; she married Jose Garcia in the late 1950s, and the couple shared 54 years together; they were blessed with two sons, Jose and Pete, and a daughter, Rosa, and over time, their family also grew to include seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Garcia was known for her delicious cooking and her enjoyment of music and dancing; she amused others with her mischievous sense of humor, while she also inspired her loved ones with her faith and wisdom; and

WHEREAS, Although Andrea Garcia will be deeply missed, cherished memories of time spent in her company will long endure in the hearts of her family and friends; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Andrea De Leon Garcia and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her husband, Jose Garcia; to her children, Jose Garcia, Jr., and his wife, Rosa, Rosa Linda Villarreal and her husband, Leopoldo, and Pete Garcia and his wife, Carla; to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; to her four brothers and three sisters; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Andrea De Leon Garcia.
