R E S O L U T I O N

|
|
WHEREAS, Workforce Solutions of the Coastal Bend received |
|
|
three prestigious awards at the 16th annual Texas Workforce |
|
|
Conference in Grapevine; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Led by president and chief executive officer Ken |
|
|
Trevino, WFSCB provides locally designed, market-driven workforce |
|
|
development initiatives for businesses and residents of a 12-county |
|
|
region in southeastern Texas; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, During the 2012 Workforce conference, WFSCB was |
|
|
presented with the Service to Business Award for its soft skills |
|
|
training curriculum entitled "Career Ready Workforce |
|
|
Certification," the Workforce Investment Act Adult and Dislocated |
|
|
Worker Employment Related to Training Incentive Award, and the |
|
|
Claimant Reemployment Performance Incentive Award; monetary prizes |
|
|
that accompany these honors will fund future WFSCB services and |
|
|
programs; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Texas Workforce Commission also honored two |
|
|
businesses that collaborate with WFSCB; Bay Ltd.--A Berry Company |
|
|
received the Employer of the Year Award for working with WFSCB to |
|
|
recruit job seekers interested in the petrochemical industry, and |
|
|
Sterling Personnel, which utilizes WFSCB's services and space to |
|
|
train and hire new employees, received the Local Employer of |
|
|
Excellence Award; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Workforce Solutions of the Coastal Bend ensures that |
|
|
employers and workers have the skills and resources necessary to |
|
|
remain competitive, and the organization has earned distinction for |
|
|
itself and its staff with its commitment to strengthening the |
|
|
prosperity of the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Workforce Solutions of the Coastal |
|
|
Bend on its statewide recognition from the Texas Workforce |
|
|
Commission and extend to the organization and its partners sincere |
|
|
best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the organization as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
