R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Charles Dupre has been named superintendent of the
  Fort Bend Independent School District, and he is expected to begin
  his service by June 1, 2013; and
         WHEREAS, Elected unanimously by the school board, Mr. Dupre
  is returning to Fort Bend after previously serving the district as
  an associate superintendent and chief financial officer from 1995
  to 2006; in his new position, this dynamic administrator will
  oversee operations of the seventh-largest district in the state,
  with nearly 70,000 students enrolled in 74 campuses; and
         WHEREAS, For the past seven years, Mr. Dupre has served as
  superintendent of Pflugerville ISD; under his leadership, PISD
  increased its graduation rates and improved student performance
  through collaborative efforts among its staff, parents, and the
  community; in recognition of his outstanding work, the Texas
  Association of School Boards selected him as 2012 Region 13
  Superintendent of the Year and placed him among the top five
  finalists for Texas Superintendent of the Year; in addition, the
  Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce named him Superintendent of the
  Year for his work to increase students' college and career
  readiness, and in 2008, he received the Excellence in Educational
  Leadership Award from the University Council for Educational
  Administration at The University of Texas at Austin; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Morocco, Mr. Dupre earned a bachelor's
  degree in accounting from Harding University in Arkansas; he later
  received a master's degree in educational administration from the
  University of Houston and is currently pursuing his doctorate in
  educational leadership at Lamar University in Beaumont; before
  beginning his tenure in school administration, Mr. Dupre worked in
  the energy industry as a certified public accountant; and
         WHEREAS, Fort Bend ISD is fortunate to have an individual of
  Charles Dupre's skill and dedication to lead its public schools,
  and he may indeed reflect with pride on his many achievements as he
  embarks on this exciting new chapter in his professional life; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Charles Dupre on his appointment as
  superintendent of the Fort Bend Independent School District and
  extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Dupre as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
