R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The untimely death of Eric White of Quitman on |
|
February 17, 2013, at the age of 54, has brought a profound loss to |
|
the family and friends of this esteemed community leader; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born in Sulphur Springs on June 17, 1958, Eric White |
|
was the son of Choyce Givens White and Ida Virginia West White; he |
|
graduated from Quitman High School and completed an associate's |
|
degree in petroleum technology at Tyler Junior College; he went on |
|
to work as a lease operator with Petro-Hunt for more than two |
|
decades; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. White was committed to making a positive |
|
difference in the lives of local youth; he served on the school |
|
board for six years, earning the respect and admiration of many for |
|
his dedication to area students and for his ability to bring people |
|
together with humor; moreover, he was active in the athletic |
|
booster club and the Quitman Youth Foundation, where he coached |
|
basketball and softball; he also supported his fellow congregants |
|
at New Life Baptist Fellowship in his role as a deacon; and |
|
WHEREAS, A devoted family man, Mr. White shared a rewarding |
|
marriage of 25 years with his wife, Cynthia, and he took great pride |
|
in their daughters, Lauren and Leslie; and |
|
WHEREAS, The life of Eric White stands as an outstanding |
|
example of civic engagement, and although he will be deeply missed |
|
by all who were privileged to know him, his contributions will be |
|
remembered and appreciated for years to come; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Eric White and |
|
extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, |
|
Cynthia Triplett White; to his daughters, Lauren and Leslie White; |
|
to his brothers, Kenneth and Richard White; to his sisters, Ida |
|
Joyce White, Velma Ruff, Cleoria Bozeman, Doris and Lilli Green, |
|
Margaret and Eloise Wright, and Coretha Bruce; and to his other |
|
relatives and many friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Eric White. |
