R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The untimely death of Eric White of Quitman on
  February 17, 2013, at the age of 54, has brought a profound loss to
  the family and friends of this esteemed community leader; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Sulphur Springs on June 17, 1958, Eric White
  was the son of Choyce Givens White and Ida Virginia West White; he
  graduated from Quitman High School and completed an associate's
  degree in petroleum technology at Tyler Junior College; he went on
  to work as a lease operator with Petro-Hunt for more than two
  decades; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. White was committed to making a positive
  difference in the lives of local youth; he served on the school
  board for six years, earning the respect and admiration of many for
  his dedication to area students and for his ability to bring people
  together with humor; moreover, he was active in the athletic
  booster club and the Quitman Youth Foundation, where he coached
  basketball and softball; he also supported his fellow congregants
  at New Life Baptist Fellowship in his role as a deacon; and
         WHEREAS, A devoted family man, Mr. White shared a rewarding
  marriage of 25 years with his wife, Cynthia, and he took great pride
  in their daughters, Lauren and Leslie; and
         WHEREAS, The life of Eric White stands as an outstanding
  example of civic engagement, and although he will be deeply missed
  by all who were privileged to know him, his contributions will be
  remembered and appreciated for years to come; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Eric White and
  extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife,
  Cynthia Triplett White; to his daughters, Lauren and Leslie White;
  to his brothers, Kenneth and Richard White; to his sisters, Ida
  Joyce White, Velma Ruff, Cleoria Bozeman, Doris and Lilli Green,
  Margaret and Eloise Wright, and Coretha Bruce; and to his other
  relatives and many friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Eric White.
