R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Through her longtime involvement in grassroots |
|
politics, Linda Kinney has made an invaluable contribution to the |
|
vitality of civic life in Hays County; and |
|
WHEREAS, This dynamic Texan has served the Hays County |
|
Republican Executive Committee in a number of roles, including |
|
those of precinct chair, county chair, secretary, and treasurer, |
|
and she has worked tirelessly to elect numerous successful |
|
candidates in Hays County to such offices as sheriff, county |
|
commissioner, and county judge; moreover, for the past 15 years, |
|
she has assisted in organizing the party's annual Lincoln-Reagan |
|
dinner events; and |
|
WHEREAS, In 2012, Ms. Kinney was elected as the State |
|
Republican Executive Committeewoman for Senate District 25, which |
|
includes Hays, Guadalupe, Comal, Bexar, Kendall, and Travis |
|
Counties; she previously served the party at the state level as a |
|
member of the organizational, platform, and rules committees; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Kinney was appointed to the Texas Automobile |
|
Burglary and Theft Prevention Authority by Governor Rick Perry, and |
|
she now chairs its Grantee Advisory Committee; in that capacity, |
|
she oversees funds in excess of $15 million per year; she is |
|
currently employed as executive assistant to a Hays County |
|
commissioner; and |
|
WHEREAS, Along the way, Ms. Kinney has enjoyed the love and |
|
encouragement of her husband, Wally Kinney, as well as their two |
|
daughters, Sara and Emily; and |
|
WHEREAS, Linda Kinney has set an outstanding example of |
|
public-spirited engagement, and in so doing, she has earned the |
|
respect and admiration of many fellow citizens; now, therefore, be |
|
it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby honor Linda Kinney for her service to her |
|
community and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, |
|
be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Kinney as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
