R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories |
|
of Abbie K. King of Aubrey, who passed away on March 14, 2013, at the |
|
age of 98; and |
|
WHEREAS, A native of Aubrey, the former Abbie Wilson was born |
|
on November 13, 1914, to Thomas and Jimmie Wilson; she came of age |
|
during the Great Depression and was witness to many events that |
|
shaped our nation's history; and |
|
WHEREAS, She found a life partner in William Iley King, whom |
|
she married on October 25, 1930, in Marietta, Oklahoma; the couple |
|
had five children, Monroe, Jimmy, Gene Paul, Gaylon, and Lois, and |
|
with the passing years, Mrs. King's family grew to include 16 |
|
grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 37 |
|
great-great-grandchildren; and |
|
WHEREAS, Abbie King treasured the time she spent in the |
|
company of her family and friends, and those she leaves behind will |
|
in turn cherish their memories of this kind and caring woman; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Abbie K. King and |
|
extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her |
|
children, Jimmy King and his wife, Lanessia, Gene Paul King and his |
|
wife, Nancy, Gaylon King and his wife, Donna, and Lois Harmon and |
|
her husband, L. Z.; to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and |
|
great-great-grandchildren; to her sisters, Willie Mae Kruger and |
|
her husband, L. H., and Dorothy Brockett; to her sister-in-law, |
|
Laura Hampton; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Abbie King. |
