R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Lakyn Griffin of Pilot Point High School was named a |
|
|
Senior of the Month for February 2013 by the Lake Ray Roberts Rotary |
|
|
Club; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of Shane and Heather Griffin, this |
|
|
dynamic young Texan served as vice president of her junior class and |
|
|
is currently active in the National Honor Society, FFA, and the |
|
|
academic athlete team; moreover, she runs track and cross-country; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Engaged in her community as well, Ms. Griffin has |
|
|
participated in the Pilot Point Trash-Off for the past three years |
|
|
and has managed a booth at the local Bonnie and Clyde Days event for |
|
|
the past two; she also coaches a basketball team with the Pilot |
|
|
Point Youth Sports Association; in addition to her extracurricular |
|
|
and service activities, she holds down a part-time job; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Following her graduation, she plans to attend either |
|
|
The University of Texas at Austin or Texas Tech University and hopes |
|
|
to one day pursue a career as a chiropractic orthopedist; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Lakyn Griffin has maintained a high level of |
|
|
academic achievement while serving the greater good, and her |
|
|
accomplishments thus far herald a future bright with promise; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Lakyn Griffin on being named a |
|
|
Senior of the Month for February 2013 by the Lake Ray Roberts Rotary |
|
|
Club and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success; |
|
|
and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Griffin as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
