R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Mayor Gregory "Pete" Hollar has been named the 2013 |
|
|
Citizen of the Year by the Pilot Point Chamber of Commerce; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A fourth-generation Pilot Point resident, Pete |
|
|
Hollar graduated from Gee High School and attended North Texas |
|
|
State University; he went on to own and operate a successful |
|
|
business for more than 30 years; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mayor Hollar has long been active in his community; |
|
|
he served as a member of the local school board for six years, as |
|
|
well as a two-term member of the city council, before earning |
|
|
election to his current post in 2012; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Married to his high school sweetheart, he is blessed |
|
|
with a loving family that includes two daughters, a son, and six |
|
|
grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The strength of our communities depends on the |
|
|
initiative and commitment of individuals such as Pete Hollar, whose |
|
|
outstanding civic engagement has helped make Pilot Point an even |
|
|
better place in which to live; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Pete Hollar on his selection as the |
|
|
2013 Citizen of the Year by the Pilot Point Chamber of Commerce and |
|
|
extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
|
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mayor Hollar as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
