R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
|
by a great and enduring love, R. L. and Virginia Shelton of Midland |
|
|
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on March 23, 2013; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Burr and Gin Shelton were united in matrimony at a |
|
|
ceremony held in 1963; over the years, they have nurtured a |
|
|
fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with the |
|
|
addition of their children, grandchildren, and |
|
|
great-grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Shelton owned Shelton Sheet Metal |
|
|
Specialties; in their leisure time, the couple enjoys attending |
|
|
church, traveling, hunting and being outdoors, playing tennis, and |
|
|
going to auctions; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, While innumerable changes have taken place in the |
|
|
world during the past half-century, this devoted husband and wife |
|
|
have remained constant in their commitment to each other, and the |
|
|
strength of their love has enabled them to meet life's challenges |
|
|
and opportunities with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate R. L. and Virginia Shelton on their |
|
|
golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes |
|
|
for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Shelton as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
