R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Dr. John Hull, the president and CEO of EQUIP, a
  faith-based leadership organization, is taking part in a walk from
  Atlanta to Guatemala to raise awareness of the organization's new
  training program in that country; and
         WHEREAS, EQUIP was founded by Christian author John C.
  Maxwell to promote a leadership development model based on the life
  of Jesus of Nazareth; Mr. Maxwell chose Dr. Hull to run the
  organization in 2000, and today, EQUIP is the largest leadership,
  personal growth, and development organization in the world, active
  in more than 170 countries; the new initiative in Guatemala has
  received support from that nation's president; and
         WHEREAS, Dr. Hull has served as a pastor, has managed a
  capital funds consulting company, and has delivered many speeches
  to both church and corporate audiences; in addition, he is the voice
  of a daily radio commentary; he holds degrees from the University of
  Georgia, Liberty University, and Gordon-Conwell Theological
  Seminary; and
         WHEREAS, By sowing the seeds of leadership and encouraging
  men and women to step forward to address the needs of society, Dr.
  Hull is benefiting countless people around the world, and he is
  truly deserving of recognition as he continues towards his
  destination; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Dr. John Hull for his work as the president
  and CEO of EQUIP and extend to him sincere best wishes for a safe and
  meaningful journey to Guatemala; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Dr. Hull as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
