R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of
  Nathaniel Bradshaw of Dallas, who passed away on March 24, 2013, at
  the age of 82; and
         WHEREAS, Born on January 21, 1931, in Houston, Nathaniel
  Bradshaw was the son of Celestine Bradshaw and James Bradshaw, Sr.;
  he grew up with nine siblings in Colfax, Louisiana, and enlisted in
  the United States Army in 1951, serving for three years before being
  discharged; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Bradshaw moved to Dallas in 1954 and was hired as
  a truck driver the following year, becoming the first African
  American driver to work for what would become Sanger-Harris; he was
  employed by the company for more than three decades; retiring in
  1988, he went on to drive school buses for another 17 years; and
         WHEREAS, A man of faith, Mr. Bradshaw became an elder at the
  East Dallas Church of Christ in 1968, and he further served the
  church as treasurer, as a Sunday school teacher, and as the driver
  of the church bus; in his spare time, he enjoyed fishing; and
         WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan shared nearly six decades with
  his beloved wife, the former Dorothy Mae Turner, whom he married in
  1954; the couple were blessed with three daughters, Sharon, Denise,
  and Marsha, and Mr. Bradshaw also took great pride in his grandsons,
  Jason, Nathan, Aulston, and Kevin; and
         WHEREAS, Nathaniel Bradshaw was a devoted husband, father,
  and grandfather, and he leaves his family and friends with a wealth
  of cherished memories of the many happy times spent in his company;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Nathaniel Bradshaw
  and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his
  wife, Dorothy Bradshaw; to his children, Sharon Faye Washington,
  Denise Hervey and her husband, Charles Hervey, Jr., and Marsha Ann
  Bradshaw; to his grandsons, Jason Hervey, Nathan Hervey and his
  wife, Crystal, Aulston Bradshaw, and Kevin Hervey; to his sisters,
  Barbara Culbreth and Deloris Ann Hines and her husband, Al; to his
  brother, Herbert Bradshaw, and his wife, Betty; and to his other
  relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Nathaniel
  Bradshaw.
