R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories
  of Elinor Margaret Brooks Kettler of Brenham, who passed away on
  November 24, 2011, at the age of 85; and
         WHEREAS, The daughter of George Willard Brooks and Bernice
  Brooks, Mrs. Kettler was born on April 15, 1926, in Navasota; she
  graduated from Navasota High School and attended Sam Houston State
  Teachers College; in 1944, she married Harold G. Harrison, and they
  became the parents of three children; later in life, in 1996, she
  exchanged wedding vows with Melvin Kettler, and they enjoyed a
  rewarding marriage until his passing in 2010; and
         WHEREAS, A woman of strong faith, Mrs. Kettler was baptized
  at the First Baptist Church of Navasota in 1938, and she joined
  St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brenham in 1992;
  affectionately known as "Mimi" to many, she loved the arts and was
  skilled with oil paints; moreover, Mrs. Kettler enjoyed traveling
  across Europe, scrapbooking, and reading; she was instrumental in
  fund-raising efforts to establish the Bellville Public Library; and
         WHEREAS, Elinor Kettler lived a rich and purposeful life
  centered around her faith and her family, and she will long be
  remembered with deep affection by all who knew her; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Elinor Margaret
  Brooks Kettler and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her
  family: to her daughters, Julie Tegeler and her husband, Larry, and
  Georgana Marek and her husband, David; to her son, Philip Harrison,
  and his wife, Jeanette; to her grandchildren, Amey Rogas and her
  husband, Russell, Bradley Tegeler, James Harrison and his wife,
  Holly, Haley Beham and her husband, Matthew, Sara Kramer and her
  husband, Robert, and John Harrison and his wife, Dori; to her
  great-grandchildren, Britt, Grant, Benjamin, and Jack Rogas and
  Elinor Grace Harrison; to her brother-in-law, Charlie Harrison, and
  his wife, Peggy; and to her other relatives and many friends; and,
  be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Elinor
  Margaret Brooks Kettler.
