R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The City of Dallas Sanitation Department's Waste |
|
Diversion Team is hosting the Dallas Spring Recycling Round-up on |
|
April 27, 2013; and |
|
WHEREAS, The Waste Diversion Team was created to educate |
|
residents about waste reduction, increase the ease of recycling, |
|
and minimize the overall environmental impact of the Dallas |
|
community; and |
|
WHEREAS, In an effort to prevent reusable items from |
|
unnecessarily entering landfills, the team has organized a citywide |
|
recycling collection on April 27; in what promises to be one of the |
|
largest drives of its kind in North Texas, residents are encouraged |
|
to bring scrap materials such as paper and packaging, along with |
|
more difficult-to-recycle objects like appliances, electronics, |
|
pharmaceuticals, clothing, and toys; and |
|
WHEREAS, Sustaining the ecological well-being of our |
|
communities requires responsibility and commitment, and |
|
participants in the Dallas event can take pride in knowing that they |
|
are helping to create a cleaner and healthier environment for all to |
|
enjoy; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby recognize the valuable efforts of the Waste |
|
Diversion Team in implementing the Dallas Spring Recycling Round-up |
|
and encourage citizens to do their part to conserve natural |
|
resources by participating in this and other such initiatives. |
