R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Seven Midway High School JROTC members have earned |
|
|
Outstanding Cadet Medals for their exceptional performance during |
|
|
the Semi-Annual Marine Corps Command Inspection Program; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since its establishment in 1916, the Marine Corps |
|
|
JROTC program has motivated students by fostering a disciplined and |
|
|
constructive learning environment that helps to instill time |
|
|
organization, responsibility, goal setting, and teamwork; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Midway High School participants who |
|
|
distinguished themselves in this year's Command Inspection |
|
|
included Cadet Staff Sergeant Mark Martin, Cadet Private First |
|
|
Class Jeffery Washburn, Cadet Private First Class Jonathan Deese, |
|
|
Cadet Corporal Lewis Sternhagen, Cadet Corporal Kaci Allen, Cadet |
|
|
Private First Class Zach Harstgrove, and Cadet 2nd Lieutenant Josh |
|
|
Powers; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, These young Texans are building character and laying |
|
|
the foundation for a bright future, and they may indeed take great |
|
|
pride in receiving these prestigious awards; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate the Midway High School JROTC |
|
|
winners of Outstanding Cadet Medals for their performance during |
|
|
the Semi-Annual Marine Corps Command Inspection Program and extend |
|
|
to them sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared |
|
|
for the students as an expression of high regard by the Texas House |
|
|
of Representatives. |
