R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Reverend Dr. Patrick R. Rucker of Koinonia
  Missionary Baptist Church in Dallas is serving as Pastor of the Day
  for the Texas House of Representatives on April 19, 2013; and
         WHEREAS, A graduate of Central Methodist University,
  Reverend Rucker earned his master's degree from Texas A&M
  University--Commerce and went on to receive his doctoral degree
  from Aspen Theological Seminary; he served as interim pastor of
  Paradise Missionary Baptist Church and assistant pastor of Greater
  El Bethel Missionary Baptist Church before joining Koinonia MBC in
  2006; and
         WHEREAS, Throughout his tenure, Dr. Rucker has developed
  programs to better serve the congregation and the wider area,
  including a women's ministry, education department, mid-week
  family fellowship, and Christmas benefit project; and
         WHEREAS, Reverend Rucker has further contributed to his
  community of faith through his service as chair of finance and vice
  moderator of the Northwestern District Association of Baptist
  Churches, regional assistant of the Baptist Missionary and
  Education Convention, and member of the board of the
  Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance; and
         WHEREAS, Exemplifying the highest standards of his vocation,
  Reverend Rucker has benefited many Texans with his messages of
  faith and goodwill, and it is a pleasure to have him with us today;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby recognize the Reverend Dr. Patrick R. Rucker on
  his service as Pastor of the Day and extend to him sincere best
  wishes for continued success and fulfillment in his ministry; and,
  be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Dr. Rucker as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
