R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Mac's Shining Stars has served Georgetown |
|
children since 1998; and |
|
WHEREAS, A faith-based child-care center and primary school, |
|
Mrs. Mac's Shining Stars was founded by Linda McCasland, who |
|
previously served for 13 years as director of Cornerstone |
|
Connection Private Christian School; and |
|
WHEREAS, The initial enrollment of Mrs. Mac's Shining Stars |
|
was 32, and within five months, it had grown to 134; today, the |
|
school offers child care for infants and toddlers and academic |
|
instruction for children from kindergarten through the fourth |
|
grade; and |
|
WHEREAS, Fostering social, intellectual, and spiritual |
|
development, the institution promotes parental involvement and |
|
provides an A Beka-based curriculum; experienced elementary |
|
teachers lead classes in all core subjects, including the Bible, |
|
language arts, reading, math, science, and social studies; in |
|
addition, students can participate in enrichment programs in |
|
computers, Spanish, physical education, art, and music, and monthly |
|
field trips help expand their horizons; technology is integrated |
|
into the learning environment through the use of computers, |
|
tablets, and interactive whiteboards; and |
|
WHEREAS, The faculty and staff of Mrs. Mac's Shining Stars |
|
have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to child development and |
|
education, and it is a privilege to commend them for their efforts; |
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby honor Mrs. Mac's Shining Stars and its founder, |
|
Linda McCasland, for their contributions and extend to Mrs. |
|
McCasland and all those associated with her school sincere best |
|
wishes; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the school as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
