R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
|
by a great and enduring love, Harry and Barbara Furlong of |
|
|
Richardson are celebrating their 58th wedding anniversary on April |
|
|
22, 2013; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Furlong were united in matrimony at a |
|
|
ceremony held in Oklahoma; over the years, they have nurtured a |
|
|
fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with the |
|
|
addition of three sons, Michael, Patrick, and Daniel; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, During their first three years together, Mr. Furlong |
|
|
was completing his military service at Camp Pendleton in San Diego |
|
|
County, California; he retired from Hewlett-Packard after more than |
|
|
25 years of service in 1991 and opened his own business, Furlong |
|
|
Enterprize, which he operated for about two decades; Mrs. Furlong |
|
|
has been a devoted homemaker; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, While innumerable changes have taken place in the |
|
|
world during the past 58 years, the Furlongs have remained constant |
|
|
in their commitment to each other, and the strength of their love |
|
|
has enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with |
|
|
grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Harry and Barbara Furlong on their |
|
|
58th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Furlong as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
