R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, For more than three decades, Jan Patterson of Dallas |
|
|
has been a leader in the development of the Republican Party in her |
|
|
county and state; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Patterson was instrumental in forming the Lake |
|
|
Highlands Republican Women's Club as a charter member in 1980 and |
|
|
served the organization as president; moreover, she was a delegate |
|
|
to the Texas Federation of Republican Women and the National |
|
|
Federation of Republican Women Conventions, and over the years, she |
|
|
has served in various positions of leadership, including president, |
|
|
of the TFRW; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through her tireless work with the federation, Ms. |
|
|
Patterson has influenced civic engagement across the Lone Star |
|
|
State; this dynamic Texan began wearing red for the TFRW Days at the |
|
|
State Capitol, a style that has grown in popularity to become a |
|
|
cherished tradition in both houses of the legislature; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring example of the hard work and strong |
|
|
ideals that are central to success in a democracy, Jan Patterson may |
|
|
look with pride at her many accomplishments; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor Jan Patterson for her contributions to the |
|
|
political process in Texas and extend to her sincere best wishes for |
|
|
the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Patterson as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
