R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Gainesville High School seniors Conner Markle and Ty |
|
|
Hayes have qualified to participate in the 2013 National Speech and |
|
|
Debate Tournament of the National Forensic League; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Markle and Mr. Hayes will join some 3,000 other |
|
|
high school students this June in Birmingham, Alabama, where they |
|
|
will compete for $200,000 in college scholarships; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, These talented young Texans earned this honor by |
|
|
besting their rivals at the district meet in Melissa; the |
|
|
Gainesville students won every round as they defeated teams from |
|
|
other 5A schools; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ty Hayes and Conner Markle are eloquent and |
|
|
convincing public speakers, and the skill and knowledge that they |
|
|
have acquired through their debate activities will serve them well |
|
|
throughout their lives; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Ty Hayes and Conner Markle of |
|
|
Gainesville High School on qualifying for the 2013 National |
|
|
Forensic League tournament and extend to them sincere best wishes |
|
|
for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Hayes and Mr. Markle as an expression of high |
|
|
regard by the Texas House of Representatives. |
