R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, The city of Richardson is fortunate to have
  dedicated community servants like Paul Voelker, who has given
  generously of his time and talents to many important civic
  endeavors; and
         WHEREAS, A native of Ottumwa, Iowa, Mr. Voelker graduated
  from Washington High School and went on to attend William Penn
  College, where he met his future wife, Kris; shortly after his
  graduation in 1983 with a bachelor's degree in business
  administration and computer programming, the couple relocated to
  the Dallas area; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Voelker enjoyed a successful career with
  Hewlett-Packard that spanned nearly three decades; in August 2012,
  he became a sales director for the Swedish-based communications
  company Ericsson; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Voelker's professional expertise and devotion
  to public service have made him a valued member of Governor Rick
  Perry's IT Cluster Committee and of the Industrial Advisory Board
  Executive Committee for The University of Texas at Dallas Jonsson
  School of Engineering and Computer Science; he has also served as a
  board member and as a committee chair for the Metroplex Technology
  Business Council; and
         WHEREAS, A graduate of Leadership Richardson, Paul Voelker
  has contributed extensively to his community as chair of the
  Richardson Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, as a board
  member of the Richardson Independent School District Excellence in
  Education Foundation, and as a member of the city's Zoning Board of
  Adjustment; formerly a member of the Canyon Creek Homeowners
  Association, he currently serves as president of the Reserve at
  Sharp Lane Homeowners Association and is a member of the
  Breckinridge West Crime Patrol; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Voelker has enjoyed the
  love and encouragement of his wife and of their son, Ryan; and
         WHEREAS, The city of Richardson has benefited greatly from
  Paul Voelker's tireless work in its behalf, and his dedicated
  efforts have earned him the appreciation of countless fellow
  citizens; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Paul Voelker for his outstanding service
  to the Richardson community and extend to him sincere best wishes
  for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Voelker as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
