R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Linda Koop has ably served the citizens of Dallas as |
|
|
the city council member for District 11 since 2005; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Over the course of her tenure in municipal |
|
|
government, Ms. Koop has distinguished herself as chair of the |
|
|
transportation and environment committee and as a member of the |
|
|
housing, Trinity River Corridor Project, judiciary, and |
|
|
legislative committees; in addition, she has also represented the |
|
|
City of Dallas at the North Central Texas Council of Governments as |
|
|
president of the executive board, chair of the Regional |
|
|
Transportation Council, vice chair of the transit authority |
|
|
partnership subcommittee, co-chair of Rail North Texas, and a |
|
|
member of the clean air steering committee; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The dedicated leadership of Councilmember Koop has |
|
|
further benefited the executive committee of the Dallas Regional |
|
|
Mobility Coalition, the transportation committee of the National |
|
|
League of Cities, and the Texas Municipal League Task Force on |
|
|
Eminent Domain/Regulation of Development; she has served her fellow |
|
|
citizens as a member of the Dallas Area Rapid Transit Board of |
|
|
Directors, and through the years, her exceptional, far-reaching |
|
|
work in transportation has earned her a number of prestigious |
|
|
awards; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Koop has also generously shared her time with |
|
|
such worthwhile programs as Send A Kid to Camp, the North Dallas |
|
|
Regional Chamber's Young Professionals program, and the PTA; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Each day, public servants improve the quality of |
|
|
life enjoyed by their fellow residents in innumerable ways, and the |
|
|
efforts of Linda Koop are helping to make Dallas an even better |
|
|
place in which to live and work; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend Linda Koop for her service on the Dallas |
|
|
City Council and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Councilmember Koop as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
