R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Ola Abbas Saleh of Richardson has been chosen to
  receive a 2013 Texas Legislative Black Caucus scholarship; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Saleh, who will graduate from Richardson High
  School this spring and attend college in the fall, was recognized
  for her achievements at a special banquet in Austin on February 25,
  2013; and
         WHEREAS, The Texas Legislative Black Caucus was established
  in 1973 to address issues of concern to the state's African American
  community; each biennium, the group awards scholarships to
  exceptional high school students from across the state; and
         WHEREAS, A truly deserving recipient, Ms. Saleh is vice
  president of her school's National Honor Society chapter and
  secretary of the National Technical Honor Society; moreover, this
  dynamic young Texan is involved in the Interact Spanish Club, the
  Health Occupations Students of America, and the Advancement Via
  Individual Determination program, and she volunteers with a local
  animal shelter, homeless program, and senior center and at her
  mosque; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Saleh has demonstrated impressive determination
  and perseverance in the pursuit of her goals, and she may indeed
  look forward to a future bright with promise; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Ola Abbas Saleh on her receipt of a
  Texas Legislative Black Caucus scholarship and extend to her
  sincere best wishes for continued success in all her endeavors;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Saleh as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
