R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories
  of Robert W. Woolsey of Corpus Christi, who passed away on March 28,
  2013, at the age of 85; and
         WHEREAS, The son of V. G. and Elouise Woolsey, Bob Woolsey was
  born on March 7, 1928, and graduated from Corpus Christi High School
  in 1945; he attended Del Mar College, and he earned his bachelor's
  and juris doctor degrees from Southern Methodist University, where
  he was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity and wrote for the law
  journal; following his graduation from law school, he joined the
  firm of Kleberg, Mobley, Lockett & Weil in Corpus Christi; and
         WHEREAS, Answering his country's call to duty, Mr. Woolsey
  joined the United States Army Judge Advocate General's Corps and
  served in Korea and Okinawa, Japan, as a first lieutenant; in 1954,
  he resumed his civilian career, specializing in admiralty and
  maritime law, and continued his practice until his retirement in
  1996; active in his professional community, he was a proctor member
  of the Maritime Law Association of the United States and a member of
  the Federation of Insurance Counsel; and
         WHEREAS, A lifelong congregant of the First United Methodist
  Church in Corpus Christi, Mr. Woolsey sang in its choir for 65
  years, taught music in all of the adult Sunday school classes, and
  held leadership positions on many boards and committees; in
  addition to his involvement at the local level, he served the
  Southwest Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church as a
  member of the board of pensions, the council on finance and
  administration, and the board of trustees; and
         WHEREAS, Although Bob Woolsey will be deeply missed,
  cherished memories of time spent in his company will long endure in
  the hearts of all those who had the good fortune to know him; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Robert W. Woolsey and
  extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife,
  Wyona Lange Woolsey; to his children, R. Michael Woolsey and Susan
  Kavanaugh; to his stepson, Jerry Ellison, Sr.; to his four
  grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and to his other
  relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Bob
  Woolsey.
