R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family, friends, and the arts community of El Paso
  are mourning the loss of Georgianna Sylvia Davanelos, who died on
  March 19, 2013, at the age of 41; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Haverhill, Massachusetts, Ms. Davanelos
  graduated from the Presentation of Mary Academy and attended the
  University of Massachusetts Lowell; a talented singer, she joined
  the El Paso Opera in 2000 as a volunteer, singing in the chorus and
  later taking comprimario roles in many productions, including
  Madama Butterfly, Carmen, and Aida; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Davanelos went on to become an essential and
  beloved member of the opera's staff, working as executive
  assistant, artist administrator, and box office manager; outgoing,
  knowledgeable, and professional, she was regarded with respect and
  affection not only by the company's artists and staff, but by
  visiting opera singers from across the nation and around the world;
  and
         WHEREAS, A woman of deep religious faith, Ms. Davanelos
  shared her gift for singing with the choirs of St. Mark's United
  Methodist Church and First Baptist Church El Paso; and
         WHEREAS, Georgianna Davanelos was a lively and warmhearted
  presence in the lives of her family and friends, and though her time
  here was far too brief, the memory of her vivacity, generosity, and
  passion for music remain to comfort and inspire all those who had
  the good fortune to know her; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to Georgianna Sylvia Davanelos and
  extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her
  mother, Patricia Davanelos; to her father, George Davanelos; to her
  sister, Jennifer Arredondo, and her husband, Mark; to her godson,
  Jared; to her nephews, Alex and Tony Arredondo; and to her other
  relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Georgianna
  Davanelos.
