R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, A 65th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of |
|
mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Royce and Joyce Johnson |
|
of Winnsboro celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on |
|
April 22, 2013; and |
|
WHEREAS, Royce Johnson and the former Joyce Caldwell met in |
|
1948 at Perry Brothers Five & Dime Store in Winnsboro, and four |
|
months after their first date, they were joined in matrimony; over |
|
the years, they have been blessed with a treasured family that |
|
includes three children, Kenny and his wife, Deanna, Keith and his |
|
wife, Karen, and Kim and her husband, Kerry, as well as five |
|
granddaughters, Jennifer, Tasha, Ali, Kami, and Becca, six |
|
great-grandchildren, Kaylin, Kylie, Austin, Kaleb, Wyatt, and |
|
Everleigh, and a great-great-granddaughter, Marlee; and |
|
WHEREAS, A United States Navy veteran, Mr. Johnson is retired |
|
from Enron and Texas Eastern Transmission, and Mrs. Johnson worked |
|
for First National Bank of Higgins for 15 years; before retiring to |
|
Winnsboro, the couple lived in Lipscomb County; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Johnson have enjoyed six and a half |
|
decades of abiding love and affection for each other, and they are |
|
among an exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a |
|
lasting commitment; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Royce and Joyce Johnson on their |
|
65th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Johnson as an expression of high regard |
|
by the Texas House of Representatives. |
