R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The untimely passing of Scott Curtis Dickey of
  Dripping Springs on January 30, 2013, at the age of 47, has deeply
  saddened his family and many friends; and
         WHEREAS, Curtis Dickey was born in Dallas on May 5, 1965, to
  Linda and Thomas A. Dickey; in 2008, he moved to Dripping Springs,
  where he became a member of the North Hays County Emergency Service
  District No. 6 volunteer team; he was further involved in his
  community as an active member of the Dripping Springs United
  Methodist Church; and
         WHEREAS, A heart transplant recipient, Mr. Dickey knew well
  the worth of each day, and he lived life with kindness and
  compassion; he was especially fond of dogs, and he trained and
  fostered many over the years, in addition to finding a good home for
  any stray he encountered; he took great pride in his role as uncle
  to his niece and nephew, Alexis and Trevor, and enjoyed attending
  their school and sporting events; and
         WHEREAS, While his death has brought sorrow to all who knew
  him, memories of Curtis Dickey will be forever treasured by those
  who were privileged to share in his love and friendship; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Scott Curtis Dickey
  and extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his
  mother, Linda Dickey; to his brother, Tom Dickey, and his wife,
  Lori; to his niece, Alexis Dickey; to his nephew, Trevor Dickey; and
  to his other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Curtis
  Dickey.
