R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Edward
  T. McCormick of Houston, who passed away on August 24, 2012, at the
  age of 78; and
         WHEREAS, Edward McCormick was born in Houston on June 15,
  1934, to Owen and Helen McCormick; he graduated from St. Thomas High
  School and later attended St. Mary's Seminary in Houston for two
  years; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. McCormick was a valued employee of Western Union
  for more than three decades; a man of strong faith as well, he was a
  longtime member of the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart and
  St. Ambrose Catholic Church, which he served as a money counter;
  and
         WHEREAS, Edward McCormick lived a caring and purposeful life,
  and he leaves his loved ones with countless treasured memories of
  the many happy times they spent in his company; now, therefore, be
  it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Edward McCormick and
  extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his sister,
  Margaret Richardson; to his nieces, Becky Petrowski and her
  husband, Paul, and Sheila Richardson; to his nephew, Michael
  Richardson; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Edward
  T. McCormick.
