R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Bedichek Middle School Junior Marine Corps has
  won four top awards at the National Middle School Drill Team
  Competition over the past two years; and
         WHEREAS, On April 6, 2013, the Bedichek Junior Marines
  received the First Place National Champion--Spirit Award; this
  prestigious accolade recognizes the many positive attributes that
  make the Bedichek program unique, and it also acknowledges the
  sterling conduct of Bedichek Junior Marines both during competition
  and off the field; recipients serve as ambassadors for the event
  throughout the year and offer ideas to make it even better; and
         WHEREAS, The Bedichek Junior Marines also acquitted
  themselves exceptionally well in the 2012 competition, winning
  first place in three categories, Armed Exhibition Drill, Unarmed
  Color Guard Overall, and Unarmed Color Guard Performance; and
         WHEREAS, Under the guidance of commanding officer Darrick A.
  Norton, the Bedichek Junior Marine Corps is dedicated to fostering
  leadership and helping students reach their physical and mental
  potential; members of the seven-year-old organization are guided by
  the motto "Adversus exitus optio non est," or "Failure is not an
  option," and they strive at all times to set an example at school
  and in the community by maintaining the highest standards of honor;
  and
         WHEREAS, The members of the Bedichek Middle School Junior
  Marine Corps have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to
  excellence, and their accomplishments are a source of pride to
  their families and their fellow students alike; now, therefore, be
  it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the members of the Bedichek Middle
  School Junior Marine Corps on winning four top awards over the past
  two years at the National Middle School Drill Team Competition and
  extend to all those associated with the program sincere best wishes
  for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the Bedichek Junior Marines as an expression of high
  regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
