R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Business entrepreneur and civic leader Connie Dunn
  was recognized as an Irving High Spirited Citizen by the Irving
  Convention and Visitors Bureau; and
         WHEREAS, A registered interior designer and the owner of
  Connie Dunn Designs, Ms. Dunn decorated the Irving Convention
  Center's exhibit hall for the 2012 TexasFest's Mardi Gras theme, and
  she will handle that task again this year; she also uses her
  decorating skills to benefit other nonprofit organizations; her
  business garnered a Best in Irving award from the Greater
  Irving--Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce in 2011; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Dunn dedicates a great deal of her time to
  supporting the arts and has served in a number of leadership roles,
  among them president of the Irving Symphony League and board member
  of the Irving Symphony Orchestra; she shares her interest in the
  cultural scene with her husband, Dr. Jerry Dunn, a fellow recipient
  of the Irving High Spirited Citizen Award; they have co-chaired the
  Irving Symphony League Ball and have been inducted into the
  Symphony Orchestra's Amati Circle; members of the Lyric Stage
  League and the Irving Community Theater Guild, the couple were
  crowned king and queen of the Theater Guild's 2010 Mardi Gras event;
  Ms. Dunn's many other accolades include a Distinguished Service
  Award from the Symphony League and the Volunteer Star Award from the
  Community Theater Guild; and
         WHEREAS, Making time in her busy schedule for a variety of
  organizations, Ms. Dunn has served on the board of the Irving
  Healthcare Foundation Guild, and she has been president of the
  Irving Women's Club; in addition, she is a member of the local
  chamber of commerce, and she attends Irving Bible Church; and
         WHEREAS, This dynamic Texan has worked in behalf of public
  education as president of the boards of three local parent-teacher
  associations; named a lifetime member of the Texas PTA, she was
  acknowledged as Volunteer of the Year by the Irving Independent
  School District Council of PTAs, and she is an Irving Schools
  Foundation Fellow; and
         WHEREAS, Connie Dunn may indeed take pride in all that she has
  accomplished as a business owner and caring member of her
  community, and her leadership and engagement have set high
  standards to which others may aspire; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Connie Dunn on her selection as an
  Irving High Spirited Citizen by the Irving Convention and Visitors
  Bureau and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success
  and happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Dunn as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
