R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Monica Perez of Dr. Thomas Esparza Elementary |
|
|
School in Edinburg has been selected as one of five finalists in the |
|
|
elementary category for the 2013 H-E-B Excellence in Education |
|
|
Rising Star Award; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In cooperation with the Texas Association of School |
|
|
Administrators, the H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards celebrate |
|
|
public school professionals whose leadership and commitment |
|
|
inspire a love of learning in students of all backgrounds and |
|
|
abilities; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Rising Star Award recognizes an elementary |
|
|
school teacher and a secondary school teacher from among those in |
|
|
the state with fewer than 10 years of classroom experience who best |
|
|
meet the criteria for the honor; each winner receives a $5,000 cash |
|
|
prize and a $5,000 grant for his or her school; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The education of young Texans is of paramount |
|
|
importance to the future of the Lone Star State, and in her role as a |
|
|
fifth-grade science teacher, Monica Perez has set a standard of |
|
|
excellence to which all in her profession may aspire; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Monica Perez on her selection as a |
|
|
2013 H-E-B Excellence in Education Rising Star Award finalist and |
|
|
extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success with her |
|
|
important work; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Perez as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
