R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, Spencer Sosnowski was one of two students from |
|
|
across America chosen to perform with the United States Marine |
|
|
Corps Band at the Rachel M. Schlesinger Concert Hall in Alexandria, |
|
|
Virginia, on March 17, 2013; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Known as "The President's Own," the U.S. Marine |
|
|
Corps Band holds an annual concerto competition open to high school |
|
|
students nationwide; the winning students receive a $2,500 prize |
|
|
and the chance to appear onstage with the band; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Sosnowski is a senior band student at |
|
|
Rockwall-Heath High School; he plays the saxophone and has also |
|
|
made the All-State Band here in Texas; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This gifted young musician has demonstrated both |
|
|
admirable ability and discipline, and through his commitment to |
|
|
achieving his goals, he is preparing the foundation for a bright and |
|
|
rewarding future; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Spencer Sosnowski on his selection |
|
|
to perform with the U.S. Marine Corps Band and extend to him sincere |
|
|
best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Sosnowski as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
