R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories |
|
of Michael Cook Walton of Stephenville, who passed away on March 11, |
|
2011, at the age of 71; and |
|
WHEREAS, Michael Walton was born to Ernest Vernon Walton and |
|
Estelle Cook Walton on December 22, 1939, in Dallas; he graduated |
|
with the Class of 1958 from A&M Consolidated High School in College |
|
Station and went on to attend Texas A&M University; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Walton began his notable career with the Texas |
|
Department of Agriculture in 1962 and retired some three decades |
|
later as a district director; while serving with the TDA, he earned |
|
the great admiration and affection of his colleagues for his |
|
fairness and loyalty as a supervisor and for his caring mentorship; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Sustained throughout his life by his deep faith, Mr. |
|
Walton was a valued congregant of Greens Creek Baptist Church in |
|
Stephenville; and |
|
WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan was the proud and loving father |
|
of three children, Virginia, Michelle, and Michael, and he took |
|
infinite joy in his nine grandchildren and his great-grandson; and |
|
WHEREAS, Michael Walton enjoyed a life that was rich in the |
|
intangibles that matter most, and he is deeply missed by all those |
|
who held him dear; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Michael Cook Walton; |
|
and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family. |
