R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Spring Branch Independent School District
  administration building has been renamed the Wayne F. Schaper, Sr.,
  Leadership Center in special recognition of a distinguished
  educator, administrator, and trustee who has devoted more than 50
  years of service to the district; and
         WHEREAS, Wayne Schaper began his notable career in 1961 as a
  mathematics teacher and coach at Landrum Junior High School; he
  went on to join the staff of Spring Woods High and then was named
  principal of Memorial High, where he served for 23 years before
  moving to the Spring Branch ISD central administration; and
         WHEREAS, Following his retirement, Mr. Schaper was elected
  to the Spring Branch ISD Board of Trustees, and his notable 11-year
  tenure on the board includes terms as secretary and as president;
  his leadership and impressive history with the district were
  further recognized when the Spring Branch Education Foundation
  created a fund that bears his name; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Schaper has also benefited his community
  through his contributions to Holy Cross Lutheran Church, the
  Memorial Spring Branch Rotary Club, East Spring Branch Food Pantry,
  and the American Heart Society Neighborhood Fund; in all of his
  endeavors, he enjoys the support of his wife, Ruby, and four
  children, all of whom are graduates of Spring Branch ISD; and
         WHEREAS, This notable Texan is making lasting and meaningful
  contributions to his community, and the naming of the Wayne
  F. Schaper, Sr., Leadership Center provides a fitting tribute to
  him; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Wayne F. Schaper, Sr., on having
  the Spring Branch ISD administration building named in his honor
  and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Schaper as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
