R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories
  of David Allan Schwerdtfeger of Seguin, who passed away on October
  5, 2012, at the age of 74; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Schwerdtfeger was born to Norman Alvin
  Schwerdtfeger and Nettie Oma Schwerdtfeger on August 13, 1938, in
  Seguin; he graduated from Seguin High School in 1956 and earned a
  bachelor's degree in accounting from Texas Lutheran University in
  1960; and
         WHEREAS, A certified public accountant, Mr. Schwerdtfeger
  worked for the Coca-Cola Bottling Company in San Antonio for 25
  years, rising to become vice president of finance; he then spent the
  last 15 years of his notable career with Groves Alexander Group in
  San Antonio; active in professional associations, he was a member
  of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the
  Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants; he also contributed
  to his community through his affiliation with the Rotary Club of
  Seguin, and he played an active role in Toastmasters International;
  and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Schwerdtfeger was a valued, lifelong congregant
  of First United Methodist Church, where he held numerous committee
  leadership positions, sang in the choir, and participated in the
  Sharers Sunday School Class and the Methodist Men; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, he enjoyed the love and
  support of his wife of nearly five decades, Dolores; the couple
  became the proud parents of two children, Jeff and Karen, and
  delighted in seeing their family grow to include nine
  grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Among his favorite pastimes, Mr. Schwerdtfeger
  counted jogging, working in the yard, going to the beach, and
  playing with his loyal King Charles Spaniel, Casey Joy; he
  especially loved spending time with his treasured grandchildren;
  and
         WHEREAS, David Schwerdtfeger achieved a life that was rich in
  family, friends, and accomplishments, and those who were blessed to
  share in his love and affection will forever hold him close in their
  hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of David Allan
  Schwerdtfeger and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his
  family: to his wife, Dolores Carter Schwerdtfeger; to his son, Jeff
  Schwerdtfeger, and his wife, Kathie; to his daughter, Karen
  McReynolds, and her husband, John; to his grandchildren, Frances
  Krienitz and her husband, Dean, Eric, Matthew, and Andrew
  Schwerdtfeger, and Cameron, Laura Anne, Eleanor, J. D., and Sarah
  McReynolds; to his sister, Sandi Seidel, and her husband, Leland;
  to his sister-in-law, Nancy Carter; to his niece, Laura Johnson; to
  his brother-in-law, Larry Cunningham; to his special friends, Keith
  and Nelwyn Robinson and their daughter Jillian; and to all others
  who mourn his passing; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas House
  of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of David
  Allan Schwerdtfeger.
