R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Pilot Point High School softball team achieved |
|
great distinction by winning the 2013 District 12-2A championship; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, The Lady Cats clinched a share of the title on April |
|
9 with a 4-0 victory over Caddo Mills behind the pitching of Skylar |
|
Cagle and a key two-run triple from Preslee Gallaway; a loss by |
|
Gunter three days later secured the outright district crown for |
|
Pilot Point, but the players were no less determined as they went on |
|
to conclude their regular season schedule with two more shutouts; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Ably guided by coach James Ramsey, the Lady Cats |
|
enter the postseason with a stellar record of 30 wins to just 1 loss |
|
and 1 tie, including a perfect 12-0 mark in district play, and they |
|
have earned a first-round bye in the 2A playoffs; and |
|
WHEREAS, With their thorough preparation and clutch |
|
game-time performances, the talented student-athletes of the Lady |
|
Cats softball team have attained their goal of claiming the |
|
district title, and they may take justifiable pride in that notable |
|
accomplishment; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate the Pilot Point High School |
|
softball team on winning the District 12-2A championship and extend |
|
to the team's players, coaches, and staff sincere best wishes for |
|
continued success; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
