R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, Griffin Middle School students achieved outstanding |
|
|
results at the Lewisville Independent School District East Zone |
|
|
Choir Solo and Ensemble Competition on April 6, 2013; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Twelve students from Griffin competed, all of them |
|
|
earning superior ratings for their performances; in addition, Jakob |
|
|
Gamblin was one of only six students to take home a prestigious |
|
|
district solo award, out of some 600 contestants; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Under the leadership of choir director Karen Patton, |
|
|
these talented young vocalists have demonstrated hard work and |
|
|
countless hours of dedicated practice, and they are a source of |
|
|
great pride to their school and their community; now, therefore, be |
|
|
it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate the Griffin Middle School students |
|
|
who participated in the Lewisville ISD East Zone Choir Solo and |
|
|
Ensemble Competition and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the school as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
