R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The pastor of the First Baptist Church of Silsbee, |
|
|
Dr. Scott Moody, is serving as Pastor of the Day for the Texas House |
|
|
of Representatives on May 7, 2013; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Dr. Moody has more than 30 years of experience as a |
|
|
pastor and has served for 17 years at his church in Silsbee; he |
|
|
holds a bachelor's degree in political science from McNeese State |
|
|
University in Louisiana, a master's degree in divinity from |
|
|
Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a doctorate in |
|
|
ministry from Luther Rice Seminary; he is continuing his education |
|
|
with graduate studies in preaching; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Blessed with a fine family that includes his wife, |
|
|
Lori, three children, and a grandson, Dr. Moody enjoys sharing with |
|
|
them his love of bluegrass music and NASCAR races; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through the years, Dr. Moody has inspired countless |
|
|
Texans with his messages of faith and goodwill, and his presence in |
|
|
this chamber is indeed an honor; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby recognize Dr. Scott Moody for his service as |
|
|
Pastor of the Day and extend to him sincere best wishes for the |
|
|
future. |
