R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Bernice Washington has been named chair of the board |
|
of directors of Texas Health Resources--Presbyterian Healthcare |
|
Resources in Dallas; and |
|
WHEREAS, The former chair of the Texas Health Presbyterian |
|
Hospital Plano board, Ms. Washington currently serves as a faculty |
|
member at The Governance Institute, which assists nonprofit |
|
hospital and health care systems; in addition, this esteemed civic |
|
leader serves on the DFW Airport Board of Directors and chairs the |
|
Terminal Renewal and Improvement Program; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Washington earned a bachelor's degree from |
|
Southern University in Louisiana and went on to receive a master's |
|
degree in business administration from the University of Missouri; |
|
she also holds a medical technologist certificate from the Research |
|
Medical Center in Kansas City; and |
|
WHEREAS, Founded in 1997, Texas Health Resources is one of |
|
the largest faith-based, nonprofit health care systems in the |
|
United States; the organization currently owns or is affiliated |
|
with 25 hospitals in North Texas, and its facilities employ more |
|
than 5,000 physicians; and |
|
WHEREAS, Bernice Washington has won deep respect for her |
|
commitment to providing outstanding health care to the people of |
|
North Texas, and Texas Health Resources is indeed fortunate to have |
|
such a strong and experienced leader at its helm; now, therefore, |
|
be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Bernice Washington on her |
|
selection as chair of the board of directors of Texas Health |
|
Resources--Presbyterian Healthcare Resources and extend to her |
|
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Washington as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
