R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Isabel Anaya, an outstanding fifth grade teacher at
  Kuentz Elementary School in the Northside Independent School
  District, has been selected as a 2013 Campus Super Educator of the
  Year and the district's nominee for the 2013 Trinity Prize for
  Excellence in Teaching Award; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Anaya joined the faculty of Kuentz Elementary in
  2010 and has been with Northside ISD for 12 years; she strives to
  foster an inclusive and positive environment in which all of her
  students feel valued and empowered; employing technology and
  creativity in her classroom, her lesson plans reach out to each type
  of young learner in a fun, yet challenging, manner;  her exemplary
  work was previously acknowledged with the 2008 H-E-B Excellence in
  Education Award; and
         WHEREAS, In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Ms.
  Anaya hosts many after-school activities such as Young Astronauts,
  Solar Cars, Yearbook, Chess Club, and Eco-Friends; under her
  leadership, Eco-Friends has organized recycling efforts at various
  local events and won $31,000 from the PepsiCo Dream Machine Recycle
  Rally for green improvements to the campus as well as $600 from
  DonorsChoose.org and the Disney Planet Challenge to enrich the
  school garden; other endeavors that have benefited from her
  involvement outside the classroom include science, math and
  literacy family nights, pep rallies, father-daughter dances, and
  visits to The University of Texas at San Antonio through the UTSA
  Dreamrunners program; and
         WHEREAS, This dynamic educator has ably served the district
  as a team leader, Northside Communication Network representative,
  PTA chair, and member of the SAT and Parent Involvement Committees;
  further sharing her expertise with others, she teaches courses at
  Super Saturdays, Camp Tech, and the New Teacher Academy and
  Elementary Institute, and she has mentored student teachers from
  UTSA; to continue developing her own skills, she participated in
  the Teaching American History grant program and has attended
  conferences on a variety of teaching methods; and
         WHEREAS, Teachers play a vital role in preparing young Texans
  for the challenges and opportunities of the future, and Isabel
  Anaya excels in meeting that goal while working to instill in her
  students a love of learning that will serve them well in every
  aspect of their lives; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Isabel Anaya on her selection as a
  2013 Campus Super Educator and the 2013 Trinity Prize for
  Excellence in Teaching Award nominee from Northside ISD and extend
  to her sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Anaya as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
