R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Since its founding in 1938, the Rotary Club of Alice
  has contributed to the betterment of the community in myriad ways,
  and a celebration of the club's 75th anniversary, held on April 20,
  2013, provided members with a fitting occasion to reflect on the
  group's achievements; and
         WHEREAS, Guided by the motto "Service above self," Rotarians
  are well known in the area for offering scholarships to local
  students and sending young Texans to leadership camps, and they
  also have donated books to the library and hosted annual Christmas
  luncheons, where they help Santa Claus deliver gifts to delighted
  elementary school students; and
         WHEREAS, For three-quarters of a century, members of the
  Rotary Club of Alice have epitomized the ideal of service that
  stands at the heart of the Rotary mission, and their endeavors have
  had a lasting and beneficial influence in the lives of countless
  area residents; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Rotary
  Club of Alice and extend to all those involved with the organization
  sincere appreciation for their efforts in behalf of the greater
  good; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the Rotary Club as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
