R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Mark Brady was inducted into the DeSoto Independent
  School District Hall of Honor at a special ceremony on May 3, 2013;
  and
         WHEREAS, The Hall of Honor was established to pay tribute to
  notable alumni of DeSoto High School and other individuals who have
  excelled in their service to area schools or have made special
  contributions to the district's educational mission; Mr. Brady was
  a member of the Class of 1976, and he returned to his alma mater to
  work as a coach and biology teacher for more than three decades
  before retiring in 2012; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Brady particularly distinguished himself in his
  role as head coach of the track and field team; under his direction,
  the Eagles won 18 district championships in 23 years, and he coached
  his team to a state championship in 2012 after twice finishing as
  runner-up; he received a number of prestigious honors over the
  course of his career, including the 2012 Coach of the Year award
  from the Texas Track & Field Coaches Association; moreover, he
  further contributed to DeSoto athletics by developing the Ellis
  Hobbs Track Meet and helping organize the alumni game fund-raising
  event; and
         WHEREAS, Mark Brady made a positive difference in the lives
  of many students through his dedicated work in behalf of DeSoto ISD,
  and in so doing, he earned the lasting respect of the community;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Mark Brady on his induction into
  the DeSoto Independent School District Hall of Honor and extend to
  him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Brady as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
