R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Local institutions play a vital role in the
  prosperity of the Lone Star State, and those enterprises that build
  a record of dependability and longevity enjoy a special degree of
  esteem in their communities; and
         WHEREAS, Originally located on the Titus County Courthouse
  Square, Guaranty State Bank opened to the public in 1913 with an
  initial capital investment of $50,000; this notable business today
  has more than $1 billion in total assets and operates a flagship
  branch in downtown Mt. Pleasant; after undergoing a number of name
  changes, it adopted the name Guaranty Bond Bank in 2002; and
         WHEREAS, Guaranty has withstood the Great Depression, two
  world wars, and a number of stock market crashes, and in the process
  it has matured into a strong and stable organization with 16
  locations throughout East Texas; dedicated to the betterment of
  each community it serves, the bank encourages civic involvement
  among its employees and has a long history of participation in area
  organizations and charities; and
         WHEREAS, Dedicated to supporting the financial well-being of
  its customers, Guaranty Bond Bank has played an important role in
  the lives of East Texas residents for a century, and it is indeed a
  pleasure to honor the company on the occasion of this milestone
  year; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby commemorate the 100th anniversary of Guaranty
  Bond Bank in East Texas and extend to all its directors, officers,
  and employees sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the bank as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
