R E S O L U T I O N

|
|
WHEREAS, Local institutions play a vital role in the |
|
|
prosperity of the Lone Star State, and those enterprises that build |
|
|
a record of dependability and longevity enjoy a special degree of |
|
|
esteem in their communities; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Originally located on the Titus County Courthouse |
|
|
Square, Guaranty State Bank opened to the public in 1913 with an |
|
|
initial capital investment of $50,000; this notable business today |
|
|
has more than $1 billion in total assets and operates a flagship |
|
|
branch in downtown Mt. Pleasant; after undergoing a number of name |
|
|
changes, it adopted the name Guaranty Bond Bank in 2002; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Guaranty has withstood the Great Depression, two |
|
|
world wars, and a number of stock market crashes, and in the process |
|
|
it has matured into a strong and stable organization with 16 |
|
|
locations throughout East Texas; dedicated to the betterment of |
|
|
each community it serves, the bank encourages civic involvement |
|
|
among its employees and has a long history of participation in area |
|
|
organizations and charities; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Dedicated to supporting the financial well-being of |
|
|
its customers, Guaranty Bond Bank has played an important role in |
|
|
the lives of East Texas residents for a century, and it is indeed a |
|
|
pleasure to honor the company on the occasion of this milestone |
|
|
year; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commemorate the 100th anniversary of Guaranty |
|
|
Bond Bank in East Texas and extend to all its directors, officers, |
|
|
and employees sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the bank as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
