R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Brenna Ann Marie Fleitman of Lindsay won the 2013
  Knights of Columbus Texas State Council Free Throw Competition for
  the 13-year-old girls division on March 2, 2013; and
         WHEREAS, An annual tradition that draws competitors from
  across the state, the contest is part of the Knights of Columbus
  International Free Throw Championship; established in 1972, the
  tournament has divisions for boys and girls ages 10 to 14 beginning
  at the local level and proceeding to district, regional, state, and
  international competitions; the organization seeks to develop the
  focus and discipline among young people that are necessary not only
  to succeed in athletics but also to promote character development;
  and
         WHEREAS, The daughter of proud parents Wayne and Cynthia
  Fleitman, Brenna Fleitman represented Council 11905 of the Diocese
  of Fort Worth at the state competition; an eighth grader at Lindsay
  Junior High School, she plays basketball and runs track, and she has
  earned medals in the long jump, 800 meter run, 400 meter run, and
  mile relay; she also plays volleyball for the Cross Court
  Volleyball team; in addition to her athletic activities, this
  dynamic young Texan has competed in the Texas Math and Science
  Coaches Association state meet, where she earned a medal in
  calculator for the third consecutive year; moreover, she is a
  member of the Cooke County Boys & Girls Club and is active with the
  youth group at St. Peter Catholic Church; and
         WHEREAS, Through hard work and dedication, Brenna Fleitman
  has become a talented athlete who is a source of great pride to her
  family and community, and she may indeed look forward to a bright
  future; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Brenna Ann Marie Fleitman on
  winning the 2013 Knights of Columbus Texas State Council Free Throw
  Competition for her division and extend to her sincere best wishes
  for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Brenna Fleitman as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
