R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, During the 83rd Legislative Session, Mark |
|
Thorne-Thomsen has ably served his fellow Texans as a member |
|
of 'Team Springer' in the Texas House of Representatives; and |
|
WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Mr. Thorne-Thomsen has |
|
contributed to the workings of state government firsthand; in |
|
addition to learning more about the legislative process and the |
|
issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State, he has gained |
|
valuable work experience in the field of public service, |
|
researching and reviewing legislation and ensuring optimal |
|
communication with district constituents; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Thorne-Thomsen previously worked as a |
|
government affairs analyst for BNSF Railway in Washington, D.C., |
|
and interned with Berry Communications as a campaign researcher; |
|
more recently, he helped set up fund-raising events, grassroots |
|
outreach programs, and direct mail strategies for the historic |
|
campaign of U.S. Senator Ted Cruz; and |
|
WHEREAS, In addition to his legislative work, |
|
Mr. Thorne-Thomsen is actively involved in campus life at The |
|
University of Texas, where he is a member of the Silver Spurs and |
|
Kappa Sigma Fraternity; he is receiving his bachelor's degree in |
|
government in May 2013; and |
|
WHEREAS, This noteworthy young Texan has performed his duties |
|
as a legislative assistant with skill and dedication, and he is |
|
indeed deserving of special recognition for his fine work as he |
|
moves on to pursue his career at Oracle in California; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commend Mark Thorne-Thomsen for his service as a |
|
legislative assistant in the office of State Representative Drew |
|
Springer and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued |
|
success in all his endeavors; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Thorne-Thomsen as an expression of high regard by |
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
