R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, During the 83rd Legislative Session, Mark
  Thorne-Thomsen has ably served his fellow Texans as a member
  of 'Team Springer' in the Texas House of Representatives; and
         WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Mr. Thorne-Thomsen has
  contributed to the workings of state government firsthand; in
  addition to learning more about the legislative process and the
  issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State, he has gained
  valuable work experience in the field of public service,
  researching and reviewing legislation and ensuring optimal
  communication with district constituents; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Thorne-Thomsen previously worked as a
  government affairs analyst for BNSF Railway in Washington, D.C.,
  and interned with Berry Communications as a campaign researcher;
  more recently, he helped set up fund-raising events, grassroots
  outreach programs, and direct mail strategies for the historic
  campaign of U.S. Senator Ted Cruz; and
         WHEREAS, In addition to his legislative work,
  Mr. Thorne-Thomsen is actively involved in campus life at The
  University of Texas, where he is a member of the Silver Spurs and
  Kappa Sigma Fraternity; he is receiving his bachelor's degree in
  government in May 2013; and
         WHEREAS, This noteworthy young Texan has performed his duties
  as a legislative assistant with skill and dedication, and he is
  indeed deserving of special recognition for his fine work as he
  moves on to pursue his career at Oracle in California; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Mark Thorne-Thomsen for his service as a
  legislative assistant in the office of State Representative Drew
  Springer and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued
  success in all his endeavors; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Thorne-Thomsen as an expression of high regard by
  the Texas House of Representatives.
