R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Megan Wilkinson, a seventh-grade student at |
|
|
Lumberton Middle School, set a new school record in the long jump on |
|
|
April 19, 2013; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Under the guidance of coach Stacey Johnson, Megan |
|
|
leaped 16.25 feet, which bested the previous mark by a full foot and |
|
|
also broke the tri-county record; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Megan's performance was part of a strong showing by |
|
|
the Raiders track team, which claimed first place at the meet; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This talented athlete has demonstrated great skill |
|
|
and dedication, and she may take justifiable pride in her |
|
|
outstanding accomplishment; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Megan Wilkinson on setting a new |
|
|
Lumberton Middle School record in the long jump and extend to her |
|
|
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Megan Wilkinson as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
