R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the
  death of Mary Helen Walters Graves of Jasper on April 10, 2013, at
  the age of 92; and
         WHEREAS, Born to Thomas and Ethie Walters, Mary Helen Walters
  was a native and lifelong resident of Jasper; a graduate of The
  University of Texas, she worked with the U.S. Corps of Engineers at
  the Sam Rayburn Powerhouse for a quarter-century; she married
  Claude Graves, Jr., and the couple spent 43 years together; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Graves was active in her community as a member
  of the Rose Society, Pine Needle Quilters, Women's Civic Club, and
  Jasper City Cemetery Board; moreover, she was a valued member of the
  First United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir and
  participated in Seekers Sunday School Class; and
         WHEREAS, Although Mary Helen Graves will be deeply missed,
  she will forever hold a treasured place in the hearts of all those
  who were fortunate enough to have known her; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Mary Helen Walters
  Graves and extend deepest sympathy to the members of her family: to
  her daughter, Marian Pekar, and her husband, Jerry; to her son,
  Breck Graves, and his wife, Pat; to her four grandchildren,
  Michelle Johnson and her husband, Jerry, Kristi Krauss and her
  husband, Eric, Pam Beadle and her husband, Shawn, and Steve Graves
  and his wife, Cindy; to her nine great-grandchildren, Kayla
  Johnson, Hunter and Logan Krauss, Taylor, Kaylin, and Camille
  Beadle, and Ashlyn, Rebekah, and Samuel Graves; to her
  sister-in-law, Ruth Walters; to her brother-in-law and
  sister-in-law, James and Jean Graves; and to her other relatives
  and many friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Mary Helen
  Graves.
