R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Karmina Martinez-Ruiz has been selected to receive |
|
|
the Leslie P. Daughtry Scholarship in recognition of her hard work |
|
|
and commitment to academic excellence; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Established in memory of former Galveston County |
|
|
Daily News publisher Leslie P. Daughtry, the scholarship honors |
|
|
outstanding college-bound seniors from each of the area's public |
|
|
and private high schools; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Martinez-Ruiz is a student at Friendswood High |
|
|
School, where she has demonstrated tremendous drive and dedication |
|
|
in achieving her goals; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A source of tremendous pride to her family, this |
|
|
outstanding young Texan may take justifiable pride in her |
|
|
achievements and look forward with optimism to the challenges and |
|
|
opportunities that lie ahead; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Karmina Martinez-Ruiz on receiving |
|
|
the Leslie P. Daughtry Scholarship and extend to her sincere best |
|
|
wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Martinez-Ruiz as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
